Recovery

Three Days After Surgery:
So, three days ago I had a relatively minor operation on my left knee. Waking up from the anesthesia was the weirdest feeling I've ever experienced. I felt the most tired I've ever been, but I couldn't stop talking to the nurses, then when I started feeling some pain, they gave me some more medicine through my IV, which freaked me out. I had this warm tightening feeling in my chest, and then I felt really content, and had no desire to move. Of course, since I wasn't feeling any pain, they made us go. They wheeled me down to the entrance, and I had to get in my car to go home, which was so weird, since I didn't feel human yet, but had to fit into a human shaped car... That whole day I was just sitting in the bed with my leg propped up, not moving at all. I think the first day after surgery was the worst, since the pain came back before I could adjust to feeling my knee again. The second day was better, since I could finally take a shower ( despite having to sit down during it). That was the first day I felt normal, since I had all the bandages off of my knee, and could finally bend my knee enough to sit at a normal table. Towards the end of the day the pain got really bad, so I had to just lay around maxing out on ibuprofen. Today, the third day, was good and bad. I felt normal, not crazy drugged-up, and after my physical therapy, I took my first few shaky steps without crutches. That was awesome, but now I'm frustrated since I still need my crutches whenever I leave the eight by twenty foot room that me and my parents are living in for two more weeks. We went to a street fair tonight, and when we were walking around after dinner, I got really cranky, since the people behind me had to slow down for me, and couldn't get around me. In the town where we're staying, there's a huge clinic, so there are a ton of sick and injured people walking around, and before it always depressed me, since I saw them all over the town, which made me feel horrible about having fun, and now, I'm one of those people. Now that I can move around more, this little room is driving me crazy! I can hardly stand to sit in here all day, but it's such a hassle to get around. humph*
I'm out for the day.
